Monave: Bronzers

November 6, 2017

I don’t own too many bronzers, but I do like using them in place of contour powders and, occasionally, blushers. I decided to try Monave Mineral’s Bronzers since I love the rest of the products I’ve tried from their line. I decided to only get samples of every color since I don’t use bronzers often. The colors are Brandy, Rum, and Gran Marnier. I love that they’re all named after drinks, and correct me if I’m mistaken, but shouldn’t that last one be Grand Marnier? Regardless, I was super excited to try these!

Santee: Flawless Liquid Foundation

November 2, 2017

Forever on the hunt for a good, inexpensive foundation I picked up these Santee Flawless Liquid Foundations during my ShopMissA haul for $1. I didn’t know which color would match my skin tone the best since the swatches online were a bit hard to differentiate, so I purchased shades 2, 4, and 5. Shade 3 was sold out or I would’ve gotten it as well. They had decent reviews, so I was excited to try them.

Monave: Face Illuminizers

October 30, 2017

Sorry for the giant lapse in posting. I have been very sick, and then there was the great dog fiasco, which you can read about on my Instagram. Let’s get back to our regular schedule! I will now be posting on Monday and Thursday.

You may remember my review of the Monave Face Illuminizer in Glow if you’re a long-time reader of my ramblings. If you haven’t read it, spoiler alert: I loved it. So it seemed like a no-brainer for me to buy the other three colors in the collection. The colors are Glisten, Glow, Radiant, and Glimmer. How cute are these names for highlighters? I love them, but I wish Radiant was named something with a “G” just to match the rest. How about Gleam, Monave? Okay, maybe I’m being a bit silly!

Fake OPI Cuticle Oil Pens

September 13, 2017

I found these fake OPI cuticle oil pens on eBay a few months ago, not knowing that they were being labeled as OPI products. The ad just said something to the extent of “fruit oil cuticle pens” and the pictures did not show a brand name. They were only 79 cents each, so I decided to get two: the yellow one advertised as lemon and the pink advertised as pomegranete. I received them about three months after ordering and was surprised to see “OPI” on the labels. After researching them, I found out that OPI doesn’t make them or anything similar, but I decided to try them out anyway.

Amuse: Pro Matte Eyebrow Pencil

September 11, 2017

I’ve never been very interested in the “fleeky” brow look that has taken over Instagram. My eyebrows aren’t exactly thick, but they’re definitely not thin either. I pluck about five stray hairs on each side on a regular basis, but I wouldn’t lose sleep if I forgot to do it. Then again, I’m a beauty blogger and trying out new products is always fun. Plus, my brows are definitely not getting any love right now. When I found this Amuse Pro-Matte Eyebrow Pencil in “Brunette” on ShopMissA, I thought I’d give it a try.

DIY Faux Acrylic Nails for 20 Cents

August 23, 2017

When I first saw these, it was on Instagram and while they were pretty, I wasn’t interested because I don’t like what acrylic nails do to my natural nails. Luckily, I read the caption. They weren’t acrylic. These are Makartt ABS Fake Nails. Let’s get scientific for a moment. ABS is a type of plastic, but it’s more sturdy than most plastics. In fact, it’s likely what your computer’s keyboard is made out of.

Monave: Lip Glaze in Tigerlilly

August 21, 2017

I’m a lip product junkie, through and through. Liquid lipsticks have always held a special place in my heart. How did my lippie obsession begin though? With this: Monave’s Lip Glaze in Tigerlilly (#166). Not only is this lip glaze a beautiful color, it’s a vegan product. While I’m not vegan, I appreciate the extra time and effort it takes to make products that can be used by people living the vegan lifestyle. So, what exactly is a lip glaze? The best way I can describe this is that it’s a highly-pigmented lip gloss with amazing staying power. It’s also insanely moisturizing, which is always a plus in my book!

L.A. Colors: Liquid Foundation

August 18, 2017

I’ve been trying to get my hands on one of these L.A. Colors Liquid Foundations for a while now, but it seems like everyone is always sold out of the lighter shades. When I went to my local dollar store a few weeks ago and saw they had just restocked the makeup aisle, I was so excited. I chose the shade 312 Creamy Beige because it most closely matched my neck in the bottle, although it did look a little pink.

Rich On: Intense Colour Eyeliner

August 16, 2017

This is another item from my recent ShopMissA purchase. It is a waterproof liquid eyeliner from Rich On Cosmetics. I thought it was a pen-style liner when I bought it, but it has a wand. At first I was disappointed by this, but the more I use it, the more I appreciate the wand design.
