Monave: Loose Mineral Foundation

June 26, 2017

I may be pregnant, but that shine coming off my face is not a glow. It’s oil. I have the strangest skin. It’s oily in some spots, dry in others, and average in tiny sections. Most foundations cater to one area and highlight the flaws on the rest. I’ve been known to use two to three different formulas at once. Loose powder foundations have always worked well on the oily sections of my face but made my dry spots look horrendous, so I was hesitant to try this Monave Loose Mineral Foundation. I first ordered the sample size of the shade Claire, and later purchased the full-sized version since it was a great match.

My Lip Care Routine

June 23, 2017

I got a request from an aspiring beauty blogger on this subject and the more I thought about it, the more I realized how much my nightly lip care routine means to me. I’m a lip product junkie, through and through. I don’t care whether we’re talking about a cheap lip balm or a high-end liquid lipstick; I want it. But the more lip swatches I do for this website—and for my own daily makeup—the drier my lips get, especially when I’m using a matte liquid lipstick like the Kylie Cosmetics line. Since I just placed a pretty massive liquid lipstick order, I thought this would be a good time for me to reflect on my lip care routine, and share it with all of you. Will all the lippie lovers raise their hands?!

Zuii Organic: Diamond Sparkle Blushes

June 19, 2017

Yes, yes, another Zuii Organic product review. Before you roll your eyes at me, I just want to say that I am in love with not only the products that Zuii Organic sells, but the company itself. A big shout-out to Alyx who I have texted about the dumbest of things and gotten a heartfelt response from. Okay, enough sap, onto the review! These Flora Diamond Sparkle Blushes are relatively new. Zuii does have another line of blushes, but these are more sparkly and multitask as highlighters. I have five colors to review for you, which will be pictured in this order: Berry, Blossom, Mango, Melon, and Raspberry. The only shade I don’t have is Peach. Mango and Blossom are both vegan-friendly shades.

Mary Kay: Eye Primer

June 16, 2017

A good friend of mine used to sell Mary Kay beauty products and when she went out of business after having a baby, she decided to sell her inventory of products at a discounted rate. What a great time to try out the Mary Kay Eye Primer! A girl can never have too many eyeshadow primers, can she?

Red Apple Lipstick: Gluten Free Lipstick

June 12, 2017

A few months ago, a friend and I were at lunch and her makeup was so perfect that even our waitress was throwing her compliments. There I was, bare-faced and jealous. Like a true friend, she pulled a lipstick out of her bag and handed it to me. I applied it and checked myself out in the reflection of my spoon. My lips were this gorgeous pinky-nude and felt amazing. I looked at the tube in my hand. Red Apple Lipstick. When she told me that it was paraben and gluten free, I was intrigued. It took me an eternity, but I finally got my hands on Audrey and Berry Blast, as well as some samples.

Zuii Organic: Flora Limited Edition Lipstick in Petal

June 10, 2017

After the honeymoon, Zuii Organic and I were walking hand-in-hand through the park when we came across a buschel of light pink azalea flowers. I said, “Oh, I wish my lips were this color.” Just then my phone buzzed and an alert popped up saying: “ZUII ORGANIC NOW MAKES A PINK LIPSTICK CALLED PETAL. HURRY! IT’S A LIMITED EDITION SHADE.” So I nagged at my new bride until this flora lipstick was in my hands. What’s that you say? You don’t believe my story? Well that’s exactly how it happened.

Storing and Using Makeup Samples

June 5, 2017

There are many ways to get samples of makeup products you are dying to try. Sometimes, they come free with a purchase, other times you can get them entirely for free, and you can almost always buy them directly from the makeup company that makes the product. While makeup samples can be a great way to try out a product before you buy the full size, sometimes they come in small bags which makes them difficult to store and use. Here are three ways to store and use makeup samples.

Sassy and Chic: Eye Makeup Remover

May 31, 2017

When I saw this eye makeup remover at my local dollar store, I was slightly intrigued. When I read “Compare to Maybelline Expert Eyes” on the package, it went straight into my basket. For those who haven’t tried the Maybelline makeup remover, it can cost you $4 to $5, which isn’t expensive but saving a few bucks is always a win in my book. I have purchased Sassy + Chic products from dollar stores before, but never an actual face product; it’s always been a pumice stone or foot cream.

Monave: Versatile Mineral Powders

May 29, 2017

Monave Minerals created these Versatile Mineral Powders and while they can be used to create custom nail polishes, lip glosses, or eyeliners, I prefer to use them as eyeshadows and that is how I will be reviewing them.  They are gluten-free and vegan products. The nine colors I have to review are: Cafe Latte, Semi-Matte Beige, Semi-Matte Bronze, Mermaid, Oasis, Gold Salmon, Rose, Taupe, and Hypnotic. They are sorted on the website by color family, so you may have to do some searching.
