Monave: Versatile Powders as Polish

June 14, 2017

I have already reviewed some of these Monave Versatile Mineral Powders as eyeshadows, but did you know that they can be used to create custom nail polishes as well? Since I’ve already reviewed nine colors, I thought I’d use a different shade, Hibiscus, as a nail polish. The only information I could find on how to use these as nail polishes was on the Hibiscus page: “Spread the fun on lips and nails.” Not too helpful, right? Here’s my personal take on using these versatile mineral powders as nail polishes.

Red Apple Lipstick: Gluten Free Lipstick

June 12, 2017

A few months ago, a friend and I were at lunch and her makeup was so perfect that even our waitress was throwing her compliments. There I was, bare-faced and jealous. Like a true friend, she pulled a lipstick out of her bag and handed it to me. I applied it and checked myself out in the reflection of my spoon. My lips were this gorgeous pinky-nude and felt amazing. I looked at the tube in my hand. Red Apple Lipstick. When she told me that it was paraben and gluten free, I was intrigued. It took me an eternity, but I finally got my hands on Audrey and Berry Blast, as well as some samples.

Zuii Organic: Flora Limited Edition Lipstick in Petal

June 10, 2017

After the honeymoon, Zuii Organic and I were walking hand-in-hand through the park when we came across a buschel of light pink azalea flowers. I said, “Oh, I wish my lips were this color.” Just then my phone buzzed and an alert popped up saying: “ZUII ORGANIC NOW MAKES A PINK LIPSTICK CALLED PETAL. HURRY! IT’S A LIMITED EDITION SHADE.” So I nagged at my new bride until this flora lipstick was in my hands. What’s that you say? You don’t believe my story? Well that’s exactly how it happened.

NeoStrata: Skin Active Exfoliating Wash

June 7, 2017

When I was a teenager, I couldn’t wait to grow up because I assumed that my acne would magically disappear and I’d have clean, clear skin like the adults in my life. Well, that didn’t happen. Over the years, I’ve tried all kinds of products to combat my skin issues, and while some things have made a difference, nothing has cleared my skin completely, so the search continued. When I heard that a good friend of mine used NeoStrata, I had to try it. I chose the exfoliating wash based on its reviews.

Storing and Using Makeup Samples

June 5, 2017

There are many ways to get samples of makeup products you are dying to try. Sometimes, they come free with a purchase, other times you can get them entirely for free, and you can almost always buy them directly from the makeup company that makes the product. While makeup samples can be a great way to try out a product before you buy the full size, sometimes they come in small bags which makes them difficult to store and use. Here are three ways to store and use makeup samples.

Sassy and Chic: Eye Makeup Remover

May 31, 2017

When I saw this eye makeup remover at my local dollar store, I was slightly intrigued. When I read “Compare to Maybelline Expert Eyes” on the package, it went straight into my basket. For those who haven’t tried the Maybelline makeup remover, it can cost you $4 to $5, which isn’t expensive but saving a few bucks is always a win in my book. I have purchased Sassy + Chic products from dollar stores before, but never an actual face product; it’s always been a pumice stone or foot cream.

Monave: Versatile Mineral Powders

May 29, 2017

Monave Minerals created these Versatile Mineral Powders and while they can be used to create custom nail polishes, lip glosses, or eyeliners, I prefer to use them as eyeshadows and that is how I will be reviewing them.  They are gluten-free and vegan products. The nine colors I have to review are: Cafe Latte, Semi-Matte Beige, Semi-Matte Bronze, Mermaid, Oasis, Gold Salmon, Rose, Taupe, and Hypnotic. They are sorted on the website by color family, so you may have to do some searching.

Dollar Shave Club: Razor Subscription

May 26, 2017

I discovered Dollar Shave Club about a year ago, but kept putting off signing up because I didn’t know that it was really worth it. My cheap drugstore disposable razors worked just fine and I didn’t want to spend the extra money. When I heard about their promotion where you could get your first month for only $1, I decided to give them a try. It’s been six months, so I’m ready to share my opinion.

Skin Nutritions New York: Age Defy Serum

May 24, 2017

I turn 27 this year and I’m finally starting to think about wrinkles, and with a one-year-old and another on the way, I definitely suffer from dark circles under my eyes. I thought about buying an expensive eye cream, but my dermatologist informed me that most of these issues are genetic and can’t be fixed by products. Still, I wanted to try something. When I found this Skin Nutritions New York Age Defy Dark Circle & Puffiness Serum, I thought it’d be worth a shot. For the record, I got mine at a local mom and pop shop and it was only $2, not $6.99 as I saw advertised on Amazon.
